Finally Mudvayne are re-releasing their debut album 'Kill I Oughta', with the added bonus of 3 extra tracks, and under a different name. Those who were overwhelmed when hearing LD50 and were left wanting more Mudvayne have been waiting a long time for this re-release. Originally limited to 1000 copies in their home town, the internet has been the only way to hear these tracks.
If you like LD50, you won't be disappointed with the 8 songs that constitute 'Kill I Oughta'. These 8 songs stick to Mudvaynes unique formula of angry vocals changing tempo to melodic harmonies against a backdrop of brutal riffs and a strong bass line.
The album is more raw compared to LD50, but has the same intensity, brutality, passion and intelligence that is so representative of Mudvayne. Kud's vocals are versatile and clear, and the musical talent of all 4 band members comes through in tracks such as 'Some Assembly Required' and 'Cultivate'. The final track ‘Fear’, one of the stand out tracks on the album, with it’s intensity and infectiousness, will leave you hitting the repeat button on your stereo. Like L.D50, this album improves with every listen, and for a demo, it’s an incredible piece of work.
The extra tracks that complete 'The Beginning of all Things to End' are 2 remixes of the incredible 'Dig', and the entire LD50 interlude. Mudvayne state their reasons for re-releasing the album under a different name and with extra tracks as being a measure of letting the album have it’s own personality but to give the fans exactly what they wanted as well as to give them value for money. And for any true mudvaynian, this album will certainly be well worth the wait.
